As of yesterday, all of the heavyweights in predictive analytics are gathering to talk, learn and make predictions about the future of analytics at the Predictive Analytics World Conference in New York City.
Attendees can pick from three levels of predictive analytics tracks including beginner/everyone, analytics expert and a special emphasis for people interested in financial services applications. The goal of the conference is to showcase the impact that predictive analytics can have on business, according to a conference press release.
The conference is one of a number of events showcasing how analytics can foster better business decisions. PAW is part of Data Driven Business Week. Six conferences make up the week and include the Marketing Automation Summit, Text Analytics World, the Conversion Conference, the Internet Marketing Conference and GAUGE (Google Analytics Users’ Great Event).
The cool part of the week is that all of these conferences are driven by data and showcase how data is the decision driver. Our specific interest is in predictive analytics as we’re sponsoring that conference. And it’s one you don’t want to miss.
Some of the speakers include Thomas Davenport, a professor at Babson College and data analytics author and blogger; Eric Siegel, the conference chair and president of Prediction Impact Inc.; and one of the IBM Watson team leaders will speak about how they built the smartest machine in the world. Davenport is set to speak on everyday innovations in analytics and how our world may change as we learn how to harness data insights. Siegel’s keynote is all about how to make better marketing decisions with numbers and predictions. And of course, you don’t want to miss Spotfire’s Jeff Mergler, lead statistical applications trainer, in the session on Deploying User-Friendly Predictive Analytics.
