I admit it, I’m no handyman. Apparently, however, my limited do-it-yourself skills are a generational phenomenon, not just a personal shortcoming. Several recent reports indicate that men of Generation X and younger are less likely to fix things around the house than their baby boomer counterparts. The issue isn’t necessarily a lack of the right tools on hand, it’s a lack of know-how.

Similarly, many companies have business process management (BPM) and business intelligence (BI) as part of their managerial toolkits. However, they don’t always understand how to use this powerful combination in concert. In their new article on TeradataMagazine.com, “Power Tools,” Steve and Nancy Williams of DecisionPath Consulting explain how BI can be used to more effectively automate BPM functions. As they put it, “Taken together and skillfully combined, BPM and BI provide a robust toolset for enabling highly effective performance management.”
