Hello to all the Tweeps who are following our monthly roundup of all things business intelligence and data analytics on Twitter this month.
Hello to all the Tweeps who are following our monthly roundup of all things business intelligence and data analytics on Twitter this month. This month we bring you a new term “the agilist,” lots of Spotfire and Tibbr coverage and a new award – hashtag of the month.
Best Twitter Handle
Ken Collier is “The Agilist” on Twitter and the director of Cutter Consortium’s (a consulting firm) data integration and collaboration practice the rest of the time. He wins our award for coining a term and his quote “I fear that ‘agile as the latest magic bullet’ has crossed the chasm, but that ‘agile as a different way of behaving’ has not.” See a great blog post from him on how Zynga (a social gaming app developer- Words With Friends, Mafia Wars, FarmVille, etc.) makes BI a defined part of its company culture.
Most ReTweeted
Sameer Patel, a consultant with Sovos Group, got around the Twittersphere with his post on Tibbr, Tibco’s social enterprise app and wins the award for Most ReTweeted. Another Tibbr mention comes from Ross Dawson, another technology consultant, who gave the keynote address at the Australian launch of Tibbr earlier this year. Dawson gives you seven reasons Tibbr takes the enterprise a step forward in this blog post.
News Source of the Month
@tech_news_daily makes our list not only because it shared the announcement of our launch of Spotfire Silver 2.0, but because it provides the best in tech headlines all day, every day. Add this site to your follow list, so you don’t miss a bit of BI or analytics news.
Hashtag of the Month
Every month it seems there’s a new Twitter event surrounding BI and data analytics, so we thought it would be cool to share a hashtag of the month. This month, we think you should check out #TUCON2011 to catch a recap of our customer conference and the insights from our knockout lineup of speakers. A couple of quotes worth noting from the hashtag feed:
From EMA Research’s Shawn Rogers: “Mobile-enabled analytics isn’t status quo yet, but it will be in 2 years.”
From MDW Advisors’ Neil Ward-Dutton: “Infosys and TCS keynotes at #tucon2011 are good indicators of how companies like these are trying to shift perceptions of their value.”
Research Worth Chewing On
Louis Columbus, a sales software product manager and adjunct professor teaching graduate level courses in market research and international business at Webster University, makes our list this month for his interesting look at how CIOs and other executives see the analytics and BI accelerating enterprise cloud adoption. Definitely worth a read and a follow.
