We’re SO predictable… but you knew I would say that.

There is a new article in the Journal Science that has analyzed 50,000 cell phone users’ data  (in Europe) to conclude that our location at any point in time is predictable 93% of the time- including heavy business travelers.   Even the outlying data was greater than 70% predictable…

NPR had a piece on it this morning.

There’s a company I’ve been following for a few years that’s done a lot of advanced work in cell phone data analytics that I really like called Sense Networks. It was a top 10 interactive product from teh New York Times and has this mission for one of its products:

“Macrosense is a platform for analyzing large amounts of mobile location data in real-time to drive relevant recommendation, personalization and discovery.”

Hey Orwell, move that big brother over… big sister is coming to town, and some of it is pretty interesting.
