This is kind of a gimmick but also kind of cool so I thought I would blog about it here.

One of the companies I am involved in, Red Rock, produces the RockSolid SQL Server Management tool. This is a product which lets you define your management process, standards, procedures, etc., as a policy, and then the tool takes on the role of implementing and maintaining those policies on your SQL Server environment going forward. It also does monitoring and has extensive analytical prediction (proactive management) and reporting capabilities.

RockSolid is already installed at numerous enterprise sites where it is responsible for the management of thousands of production SQL Server instances. In addition to the existing email and SMS feature, utilizing Twitter as a communication mechanism allows for messages to be received via SMS but also received and organized by tools such as TweetDeck while you are in the office etc.
