In this new monthly feature, we present a roundup of R packages that have been updated on CRAN in the last month.
ggplot2, a plotting system for R based on a "grammar of graphics", has been updated to version 0.8.2. New features make it easier to draw maps, discretise continuous variables, and summarize data for plotting, and there are many other improvements and bug fixes.
biglm, a package for out-of-memory regression analysis for large data sets, and adds predict(), deviance() and AIC() and fixes a bug in sandwich standard errors with weights.
leaps, a package for regression subset selection, has been updated to version 2.8. This version adds a regsubsets() method for biglm objects, so that the subset selection algorithms can be run efficiently on large data sets.
kml, a new implementation of K-means for longitudinal data, has been updated to version 0.9.2. This version improves performance and improves flexibility for clusterization.
exams is a new package to automate generation of multiple-choice exams with Sweave.
RcmdrPlugin.survival is a new plug-in for R Commander adding survival analysis to the GUI, with dialogs for Cox models, parametric survival regression models, estimation of survival curves, and testing for differences in survival curves, amongst other features.
fechner is a new package for Fechnerian scaling of discrete object sets.
RMySQL, a package integrating MySQL with R, has been updated to version 0.7-3.
mefa is a new package for multivariate data handling in ecology and biogeography.
DAKS, a new package for the psychometric theory of knowledge spaces, is now available.
