Ling has over 12 years experience in statistical analysis and methodolgies, data and text mining, analytics, information technology. Recently she has worked analyzing over billions of advertising log files, impressions and clicks, trying to find patterns and parameters to affect CTR. she has done social media mining, semantic analytics, emotional scoring, and visulization as well as social media record linking. Ling is proficient with two big data platforms - Apache Hadoop and LexisNexis HPCC and she also has deep knowledge and rich experience in both SQL and no-SQL databases.
Ling holds three patents in record linkage and citation network based ranking. She also contributed a chapter, Record Linkage Methodologies and Application for the Handbook of Data Intensive Computing, pulished in 2012.
Ling is passionate about technologies for building customer intelligence from big data and using advanced analytics. Ling is also passionate about leadership development and public speaking and she has been a toastmaster for six years, delivered over 40 speeches and won advanced communication silver and leadership silver awards.
She has been a lead data scientist in advertising industry, where she developed analytics road map, performed intensive descriptive and predictive analysis to drive product improvement and innovation; she also was Sr. Data Scientist in social media based sentiment analysis, where she performed NLP, classification, scoring and advanced social media sentiment analytics. After work, she is enjoying reading, writing and being a toastmaster to practice public speaking and leadership; she ever served as an area governor to lead 7 clubs. Now she is pressing on to archive Distinguished Toastmaster by 2013.
