Ling has over 11 years experience in statistical analyses and methodolgies, data and text mining, analytics, information technology. Recently she is working on social media mining, semantic analytics, emotional scoring, and visulization as well as social media record linking. Ling is proficient with two big data platforms - Apache Hadoop and LexisNexis HPCC and she also has deep knowledge and rich experience in both SQL and no-SQL databases.

Ling holds two patents in record linkage and citation network based ranking. She also contributed a chapter, Record Linkage Methodologies and Application for the Handbook of Data Intensive Computing, pulished in 2012.

Ling is passionate about technologies for building customer intelligence from big data and using advanced analytics. Ling is also passionate about leadership development and public speaking and she has been a toastmaster for six years, delivered over 40 speeches and won advanced communication silver and leadership silver awards.

Currently she is a Sr. Data Scientist at BehaviorMatrix in advanced social media sentiment analytics. After work, she is also serving as an area governor as a Toastmaster and pressing on to archive Distinguished Toastmaster by 2013.
