Segment 1 – Opening Gun
Ah, once again, time to get your mans up…whatever that means. I take a look at the way to look at social CRM as we enter a phase where it’s a major part of the conversation, but not of execution at companies. Though its individual elements are a part of execution. Then again, who adopted a holistic CRM strategy right from the get-go either?
Segment 2 – Industry Cuts and Bruises
Oracle OpenWorld 2010 came, saw, didn’t quite conquer but did some things of interest. For example, they released what may be the most powerful and best looking set of enterprise applications on the market – their Fusion Apps, with a well thought out strategy for migration and adoption AND collaboration totally woven into the fabric, rather than as a separate app. So, with all that Fusion baked goodness, why in the world did they have such horrible keynotes from HP and Oracle – with the exception of the Fusion demo? Beats me and beat everyone else over the head. Lots on that.
Segment 3 – Lists
Got a frontrunner for the name of this segment. “High5, Low5”. I don’t really mention this in the episode’s segment but want to keep it upfront. Contest for segment new name ends when Episode #5 (this is #3) is posted. The segment though consists of a list of 2 – me busting two myths that have been frequently repeated about me. Thing is, while I love the idea of being legendary, I’m not. So the myths need to be placed properly in the perspective of reality. That means in less polite terms – they aren’t true and I wanted to set the record straight. So I did. Hey, its my show! J
Taking a Break from It All
The song that I play is from Elvin Bishop, who played with iconic (at least to me) Paul Butterfield Blues Band and with Mike Bloomfield and Al Kooper and on his own. A great, great blues guitarist. Details below.
Segment 4 – Inside the Left Brain
I do a deep dive on another Forrester Group report entitled “The Top 15 Technology Trends EA Should Watch: 2011 To 2013.” EA doesn’t mean Electronic Arts, the gaming company, but it means “Enterprise Architects.” This is a very good report, though the sampling is only 65 online survey respondents. I pick my Top 5 of their top 5 and proceed to let you know why I think they are the top 5.
Of course…The Music
